The NINDS is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and conducts research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders and stroke. The Lab or Neurogenetics has been testing a hypothesis involving a point mutation in NRG1 gene, believed to be associated with psychosis, by performing bulk RNA-sequencing on micro-dissected regions of mouse brain tissue. The next stage in the investigation is exploring cell-type-specific effects of this mutation on RNA levels as well as chromatin accessibility. RNA sequencing is currently performed on-site using a 10X Genomics Chromium platform. Performing the planned single-cell experiments using this platform requires using the Chromium Next GEM Single Cell Multiome ATAC + Gene Expression Reagent Bundle (16rxns) and associated items. Please see Attachment 1 - Purchase Description for a complete description of the requirement.
