The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisition (OA), on behalf of the National Institute on Aging (NIA), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition (including brand-name) to Applied StemCell, Inc., 521 Cottonwood Drive, Suite 111, Milpitas, CA, 95035 for Mice containing the DAGLB-tdTomato knock-in model for live animal imaging This acquisition is conducted as non-competitive for a commercial item or service and is conducted pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). (v) This requirement is for the following items: Mice containing the DAGLB-tdTomato knock-in model for live animal imaging in support of research into neurodegenerative diseases within the Laboratory of Neurogenetics (LNG). (vi) The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Laboratory of Neurogenetics (LNG), works to understand the pathological basis of neurodegenerative diseases, primarily ALS, Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease. The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire mice containing the fluorescent tag tdTomato for observing gene expression, cell and neuronal development, and live animal imaging to elucidate dynamic processes. Specifically, NIA recently identified DAGLB as a new causal gene in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease. The generation of DAGLB-tdTomato mice allows researchers to further investigate how the subcellular localization and function of DAGLB are regulated in both normal and disease conditions. These capabilities are essential to support research into neurodegenerative diseases within the Laboratory of Neurogenetics (LNG). Project requirements: NIA requires large fragment knock-in mouse model using CRISPR/Cas9 to generate a C-ter DAGLB-tdTomato tag. All deliverables required under this contract shall be packaged, marked and shipped in accordance with Government specifications. At a minimum, all deliverables shall be marked with the contract number and provider name. The provider shall guarantee that all required materials shall be delivered in immediate usable and acceptable condition. The capability statement must specifically address each of the project requirements separately.
