The purpose of this acquisition is to procure (1) one mass spectrometer and flash chromatography system for the real-time analysis of compounds designed and synthesized for the study and treatment of drug of abuse. The requested chromatography system must satisfy the following requirements: 1. Integrated ELSD component to detect compounds. 2. Maximum dimensions Flash Chromatography: 26.8 x 14.1 x 17 inches (66 x 36 x 43cm); must operate in a fume hood. 3. Maximum dimensions Mass Spectrometer: 26” x 11” x 22 inches (66 x 28 x 56cm); 4. The small molecule mass spectrometer must easily interface with the flash chromatography system to add mass direct fractionation to the purification of novel compounds synthesized by chemists in the laboratory. 5. The instrument must automatically switch between positive and negative ionization modes throughout the run and include a fluid interface module to remove sample and redirect t mass spec for analysis. 6. The mass spec must include the following: full mass spectra data on any fraction tube, must automatically clean mass spec interface, must have multiple ionization settings, an option for multiple peak detection settings of an individual sample, capable of probe wash and cone cleaning after each run, and single point of control of all mass spectrometer and 2 flash parameters. 7. Users must have the ability to manually inject for pre-purification verification. 8. ESI (electrospray ionization) is required for polar, ionizable, and acidic/basic compounds. 9. The software must be user friendly and compatible between systems. The Signal to Noise ratio shall be increased, faster scan speed, and updated fluid interface decreasing pulsation during runs and improving signal trace. 10. Warranty against defects in material or workmanship. Instrument found to be defective during the warranty period will be repaired or replaced by the factory designated service center at no charge to the Government. A longer warranty is considered more desirable by the Government. 11. The selected contractor will also be required to provide installation and training. No government furnished equipment or supplies will be provided to the selected contractor for installation or training. Installation and training shall be coordinated with the technical end-user, who will be identified in the purchase order, and be conducted during normal business hours (excluding Federal Holidays).
