The NICHD intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Optimal Systems of Rockville, MD, for the continuation of a Medical Image Analysis Scientist's services. The work will support the Biomedical and Metabolic Imaging Branch's research into developing non-invasive imaging techniques to study metabolic diseases. The period of performance is from February 2, 2026, through February 1, 2027, with services to be performed at the NIH Main Campus in Bethesda, MD. The justification for the sole-source award is that the current contractor possesses unique, irreplaceable expertise critical to the integrity of ongoing, complex research projects.
