The purpose of this requirement is to procure for the NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) for the National Institute of Human Genome Research (NHGRI) a Tecan Fluent 780- and system cabinet with accessory items. The NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC) is a high throughput facility for performing DNA sequencing. NISC provides services for all institutes and centers of the NIH. Approximately seven thousand samples are processed each year at this facility. In order to process this number of samples various forms of automation are incorporated, including robots capable of processing at least 96-samples at a time. Recent increases in demand for sequencing RNA samples and whole genome sequencing have put an added stress on NISC resources requiring additional automation and replacement of old equipment.
