The purpose of this requisition is the acquisition of the HC PL APO 93X/1.30 GLYC motCORR objective lens. The objective lens will be installed in an existing NIAMS Leica SP8 confocal microscope to improve performance due to the presence of a motorized correction collar that allows ultra-fine adjustment of the optical lenses within its barrel. As a result, this lens will perfectly adapt to variations in cover glass thickness, changes in temperature while doing live imaging and specimen inhomogeneity. The acquisition of this objective lens will assure NIAMS scientists of unmatched quality and resolution microscopy images during the most challenging acquisition conditions as those with live cells.
