The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Thoracic and GI Malignancies Branch (TGMB) plans to procure, on a sole source basis, Preventive Maintenance Service for One (1) Advanced Solution Life Sciences BioassemblyBot200 Bioprinter from: Advanced Solutions Life Sciences, LLC 1901 Nelson Miller Parkway Louisville, Kentucky 40223 United States of America The response close date of the notice for this requirement is in accordance with FAR 5.203(b). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 – Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.106-1 (b)(1) and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System code is 811210 for which the small business size standard is 34 million dollars. The BAB200 bioprinter requiring maintenance is proprietary to the OEM, Advanced Solutions Life Sciences LLC. The OEM is the only company authorized and capable of providing services and parts to its proprietary systems. Additionally, maintenance services by another vendor could jeopardize the functionality of this highly complex bioprinter and its interaction with the CellDIVE microscope system. The BAB200 is a highly advanced component and supported by proprietary software which is only available through the OEM. Its proper maintenance and timely and efficient service is critical for the research projects conducted at TGMB. For these reasons, Advanced Solutions Life Sciences LLC is the only vendor known to the NCI to meet the Government’s needs of this requirement.
