The U.S. FDA, San Juan Laboratory in the Office of Regulatory Science, Office of Medical Products, Tobacco, and Specialty Laboratory Operations is a Pharma Specialty Laboratory. The San Juan Laboratory performs a large variety of diverse analytical methods. These methods require a wide range of analytical measurements. The San Juan Laboratory needs to replace an obsolete microbalance that is more than 10 years in use. The older balance can no longer be adjusted and is starting to show mechanical failures. The microbalance is used to weigh standards, samples, and analytes used for test preparations that have a relatively small mass with a high degree of sensitivity, precision and accuracy. This instrument will be used for sample analysis and research.
