The Division needs to acquire a high-quality microscope objective lens to image the response to nickel hypersensitivity of fluorescently labeled immune cells in the mouse's ear for a critical path grant. The purchase will provide cross-sectional images of dendritic cells in the ears of live mice. The lens will be mounted on the Neurosensory Devices multiphoton Leica MP. The objective of the delivery order is to procure a 25X Water Immersion Microscope Objective Lens that would have the capabilities listed under the technical requirements. For imaging fluorescently labeled dendritic cells with metal ions, a long working distance, 25X water immersion multiphoton objective lens is needed for the Leica multiphoton (MP) microscope. The ideal objective lens should have proper diameter and threading to screw into the Leica DMRE microscope objective lens turret without adapters and have a relatively short overall length to be parfocal with other objective lenses. The lens should have a high numerical aperture ?0.8. The Vendor shall provide the FDA with the required equipment.
