Non-Research Long-Term Care facility needed for the enrichment and socialization of Non-Human Primate colony
This amended acquisition seeks permanent housing for approximately 130 nonhuman primates (NHPs) and a contractor to provide safe, compliant, humane long-term sanctuary care with limited lead time. The contractor must implement structured social group formation, behavioral rehabilitation, comprehensive lifetime care, and assume sole custody and ownership of each animal. The objective is a seamless, humane transfer of CDC animals into naturalistic, enriched environments that support their physical and behavioral health under applicable animal welfare regulations. The facility must be GFAS-accredited, operate as a sanctuary with no research or breeding, not buy, sell, or trade animals or animal byproducts, and prohibit direct public contact. It must also provide species-appropriate habitat and enclosure design that supports the expression of natural behaviors.
