Phenom Pharos G2 desktop model scanning electron microscope (SEM)
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Nanoscience Instruments for a Phenom Pharos G2 desktop scanning electron microscope with a field emission electron beam source and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy detector capable of elemental mapping. The field emission source is required because it provides significantly higher magnification (up to 2,000,000x) than traditional tungsten filaments, enabling imaging of nanometer-sized particles, and the elemental mapping capability is the other key requirement. Only this specific instrument from Nanoscience Instruments meets both mandatory requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations, but all responses received within fifteen days will be considered by the government. The government retains sole discretion to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement based on the responses received.
