The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Bahnson Environmental Specialties, LLC to perform upgrades to existing laboratory control system components in the insect environmental and insect rearing rooms at the CDC Roybal campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The proposed contractor designed and installed the existing control panels which have a programmable logic controller and human machine interface panels that are used to strictly control lighting, humidity, and temperature to ensure the optimal development of the mosquito colonies and is believed to be the sole-source provider. Because of the proprietary nature of the installed equipment, other manufacturers cannot provide the supplies and integration services required for this contract. The proprietary design and components are unique to the original equipment manufacturer Bahnson Environmental Specialties. This proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within fourteen (14) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
