The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order for Versatile Water CPC model 3789 to TSI Incorporated. Versatile Water CPC by TSI is the only instrument available in the marketplace that includes all of the required specifications as mentioned below: Single Particle counting upto 2x105 particles/cm3 Built-in SMPSTM spectrometer compatibility Predefind setpoints of 50% counting efficiency for 2.2nm and 7nm Selectable counting efficiencies. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) “only one source is reasonably available”. There are no other vendors that provide such specialized features as listed above, especially compatibility with an existing SMPSTM spectrometer from TSI, and requirement for airborne particle number cosncentration measurement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334519, with a size standard of 500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
