UPDATED 3/11/2021 to include CDC Responses to Questions The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for its Biorepository (CBR), which manages and preserves the agency’s valuable samples used in public health research, surveillance, and clinical studies. The purpose of this BPA is to acquire the liquid nitrogen (LN2) freezers, freezer racks, and support (e.g., delivery, setup, and installation, operational, and performance qualification) needed for the CBR's operation, provision of services, and associated activities at the CDC Lawrenceville, Chamblee, and Roybal campuses. This BPA is anticipated to be for a period of five years from the effective date of the contract. The three LN2 freezer models indicated below are the only LN2 storage units that are compatible with CBR's existing freezer monitoring system (DLS Sample Guard), which allows for continuous temperature monitoring and remote interaction to control and schedule functionality. The remote monitoring and interaction allow for quick response to system issues and is necessary to provide assurance that sample integrity will be maintained. After placing an order, delivery of the ordered times and set-up shall be timely, comprehensive, reliable, and cost-effective.
