“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to MRIGLOBAL to provide bioinformatic support to identify genomic markers unique to... “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to MRIGLOBAL to provide bioinformatic support to identify genomic markers unique to specified pathogen taxa as a part of the development of a highly multiplexed amplicon sequencing panel. This panel will be applied to nucleic acids extracted from diarrheal stool samples for the identification of agents in diarrheal outbreaks of unknown etiology. EDLB requires the contractor deliver a precise description of the genomic marker(s) identified for each pathogen taxa indicated in the contract, as well as the design of candidate polymerase chain reaction (PCR) primer pair(s) targeting the marker(s). The initial period of performance shall be one year with up to two option years possible. All analyses are to be completed on computing systems supplied by the contractor. This procurement action is for services and supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541714. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide the specified products within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
