The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed priced simplified purchase order to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Inc to procure a JA20 Fixed Angle Rotor, JA12 Fixed Angle Rotor, J-Lite JLA16.250 Fixed Angle Rotor and a SW41 Ti Swinging Bucket Rotor, Rack- Bucket 6-Hole, and Stand Assembly for Swinging Bucket Rotor. This requirement is for the procurement of three replacement rotors for virus purification and other various steps in basic research. These rotors are specific to the current model of Beckman Coulter centrifuge and are replacement rotors, as the current rotors are expired. The SW41 Ti Swinging Bucket Rotor, Rack- Bucket 6-Hole, and Stand Assembly for Swinging Bucket Rotor is specific to the current model of ultra-high centrifuge and is a replacement rotor as the current one is expired. No substitute manufacturer’s rotors are approved or compatible with the Beckman Coulter Centrifuge. No other known potential vendors provide such specialized features and requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation /response should be emailed to the Contracting Specialist at lsf7@cdc.gov (CTR) by 4:00PM EST on 08-06-2021. No telephonic quotes shall be considered.
