The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to PreOmics GmBH for the purchase of PreOmics PreON proteomics liquid handling system for automated sample preparation. The BCFB proteomics laboratory has been investigating and testing rapid proteomic sample prepartion techniques. The proteomics team in BCFB has tested a wide variety of commerical as well as academically published reagents and protocols. PreOmics reagents and sample preparation have emerged as the top protocol in our hands which delivers reproducible highest depth of coverage of proteomics samples. The company which manufactures the reagents also sells a liquid handling robot designed for their reagents and programmed for their protocols. After selection of the best reagents and protocol for proteomic preparation, the lab is moving towards automation for increased capacity of unknown agents and are therefore procuring this laboratory robot designed for the reagents and protocols selected as the ideal for the laboratory work. The PreOmics PreON is the only robot on the market designed and programmed for the PreOmics reagents and protocols. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
