The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) on behalf of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) intends to award a sole source firm fixed priced simplified purchase order for a Model 1512-5 Photoacoustic Multigas Monitor. The Model 1512-5 Photoacoustic Multigas Monitor is needed for tracer gas and ventilation studies within the Engineering and Physical Hazards Branch. The instrument will enhance the Government’s ability to protect workers by accurately measuring tracer gas for ventilation studies at worksites. The Model 1512-5 Photoacoustic Multigas Monitor selectively measures a wide range of gases/vapors with a linear response over a wide dynamic range from 0.006 ppm to 30 ppm. It has the highest stability (low drift) which makes calibration only necessary 1-2 times a year. The instrument is user-friendly and has easy calibration, configuration and measurement data presentation and analysis on PC. It accurately compensates for temperature and pressure fluctuations, water-vapor interference and interference from other known gases. The instrument has extremely low-volume flushing. It operates immediately with almost no warm-up time necessary. It is expandable up to 24 locations using 1409 Multipoint Sampler. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
