The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of the Chief Information Officer, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30222, hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source modification in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Source, to Paragon Micro, Inc., 2 Corporate Drive, Suite 105, Lake Zurich, IL 60047-8933, to allow for additional internal connections to commercial and government cloud networks via the internal colocation switchboard. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The incumbent, Paragon Micro, Inc. , is already in place providing production network connectivity and other services to CDC public cloud-based applications through virtual connections from CDC on-premise data centers out to cloud Service Provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) through their SwitchBoard service. Paragon Micro was the winning awardee from CDC’s competitive delivery order for Colocation Services from NIH’s NITAAC CIO-CS vehicle in July 2020. CDC now needs to expand the current public cloud connections to AWS to accommodate additional traffic. Paragon Micro, Inc. needs to support these virtual connections, and this modification is necessary to incorporate those expenses. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
