Contractor support is required to maintain, sustain, deploy, demobilize, exercise, train on, and provide program management for Portable Biocontainment Units (PBCUs) used in public health emergency operations for High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCIDs). Services include preparing PBCUs for transport within and outside the US, siting and setting up the units, and operating them. The contractor must also maintain and repair advanced mechanical systems, such as HVAC, rechargeable batteries, and negative pressure systems, in austere environments, as well as demobilize the units after use.
