This Notice of Intent to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) on behalf of the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), Pittsburgh Research Mining Division (PMRD). PMRD has a requirement for a borehole flatjack used to measure vertical loading in coal pillars. This has been the primary tool and source for such measurements during the evolution of ground control monitoring in coal mines. These pressure sensing assemblies connect to the flatjack allowing for both the analog and digital readout of the pressure to be monitored and collected. This particular flatjack is necessary due to compatibility. The intended recipient of this purchase order is: Pittsburgh Fluid Systems, LLC located at 49 Meade Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15202-3514. This order is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by 6/7/23 by 1:00PM EST will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
