The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract with CenMed Enterprises Inc., 121 Jersey Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901. This notice is provided in accordance with FAR 5.203(a). The contractor shall service and maintain two laboratory instruments for a period of 12 consecutive months, namely (i) Tecan Fluent 1080, and (ii) Tecan Freedom EVO 200. Due to the nature of the work, the CDC believes CenMed Enterprises Inc. is the only vendor capable of meeting this requirement. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR Subpart 13.5, 41 U.S.C. 1901. The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 334516 – “Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.” Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
