Emory University’s American Men’s Internet Survey (AMIS) is a large, internet-based survey of men who have sex with men (MSM) in the United States. AMIS has 10,000 respondents annually which allows for survey stratification at the state and smaller geographic levels with sufficient numbers of respondents to allow for the necessarily statistical power to support analyses and subsequent inferences. AMIS is unique in that no other survey of MSM has as large a sample from across all 50 states and U.S. territories. Furthermore, no other survey contains data about sexual and other risk behaviors at the granular level needed for analyses that will inform prevention program planning and implementation. Finally, AMIS data is currently available for the most recent calendar year (2021). No other source has the type, amount, scope and timeliness as does AMIS.
