The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, Frederick, Maryland for audit services and accreditation fees. The Agency is currently accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard and is seeking reaccreditation and future accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043:2010, and ISO 15189 with a CLIA certificate. A2LA is the only known Vendor that can provide accreditation to these ISO standards and simultaneous accreditation to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services CLIA standard required by United States Federal Law through their proprietary Platinum Choice program. CLIA accreditation is required for the Government’s laboratories to return diagnostic results for patient care and treatment. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 541380 – Testing Laboratories with a size standard of $16.5M. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR Part FAR 13.106–1 (b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within thirteen (13) calendar days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
