The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a modification to contract number 75D301D20C07765 to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals for Innovative Methods to Inform Estimates of Vaccine Effectiveness Using Information on the Epidemiology and Incidence of Influenza and Other Acute Respiratory Illnesses. The Modification of CDC Contract #:75D30120C07765 (“Innovative methods to improve estimates of vaccine effectiveness”) to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals extends the period of performance to August 31, 2023 in order for the contractor to assess the effectiveness of COVID vaccines in preventing ambulatory medical care and hospitalizations associated with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19. Delays in the availability of COVID vaccines and the necessity to have an extended period of assessment requires the extended period of performance. The contractor has unique capacity to assess COVID vaccine effectiveness (VE) using their integrated medical, laboratory, and vaccine records and to do so in a timely way to meet CDC needs for policy-relevant information on the field performance of these vaccines. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
