The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Thermo Electron North America for a maintenance agreement for a nano-UPLC system (Thermo RSLCnano HPLC) and mass spectrometric equipment (Thermo Orbitrap Lumos). The vendor needs to cover at least one preventative maintenance (PM) visit a year as well as cover all costs, including parts, labor, and travel, for any needed repairs to maintain the instrument at original manufacturer specifications. The contract should include a maximum 72-hour on-site response with priority status and options for faster response by phone or on-line diagnostic sessions. Vendor supplied computers and non-major software upgrades should be covered as well. All repairs will need to be done by engineers that have been trained by the OEM with up to date certifications and knowledge of the equipment. All repairs need to be performed using only original manufacturer (OEM) parts The vendor needs to be a direct service vendor to prevent delays in servicing critical equipment. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be reviewed by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
