This proposed modification is to add additional work to encourage timely widespread adoption of the IG by electronic health record systems (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and other health data source organizations so that it would allow researchers and other stakeholders to gain access to this vital data. To accomplish this, an open-source, measure-based application— MaternalHealthLink— will be developed to provide data access and the flexibility to address researchers’ data needs over time. With the award of this modification, the Government will leverage ongoing development of the Longitudinal Maternal & Infant Health Information for Research IG to define input and output requirements by conducting a pilot to test this linkage.
