The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on BETA.SAM.gov on or after January 27, 2019 for services in support of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases (DFWED), Enteric Diseases Epidemiology Branch (EDEB) to obtain required epidemiologic research services to support teams within EDEB to address foodborne illness and surveillance and prevention activities that assist in ensuring a safe food supply for the American public. The Government expects to solicit full and open competition. In general, the contractor will provide support in the following areas: Draft, develop, and edit manuscripts and publications related to CDC’s work in foodborne illness and surveillance and prevention activities. Collect, maintain, and analyze national-level data to determine foodborne illness trends and inform food safety policy. Gather information from and communicate with federal, state, and local public health partners in foodborne disease outbreak investigation, surveillance, and prevention activities. Develop and present training materials related to programs that include FoodNet, the Foodborne and Diarrheal Diseases Message Mapping Guide, and case reporting procedures for the branch’s surveillance systems. The resultant contract is expected to be a Time and Materials (T&M) contract awarded on or before August 1, 2020. The term of the contract is expected to be for a base of one year with two 12-month option periods. The applicable NAICS code is 541990 with a size standard of $16.5 Million.
