The results of the market research concluded that NASEM’s Forum on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders, provides unique member services that are not available through any other source. Their resources on issues such as suicide prevention, serious mental illness, and the use of data analysis are considered some of the best in the field. In addition, membership with NASEM will allow SAMHSA to participate in decision-making and knowledge-sharing with other active members such as the American Psychological Association, National Institute on Drug Abuse, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the American Psychiatric Association.
