The NIH Clinical Center’s Department of Transfusion Medicine intends to award a firm-fixed-price, sole-source order to Rees Scientific for environmental monitoring probes and transmitters for its Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) section. The equipment will be installed within the NIH Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine, to correct deficiencies identified during a recent CMS inspection and support regulatory compliance. The department currently uses a proprietary Rees Scientific monitoring system for room temperature, humidity, refrigerators, and freezers, so the required probes, transmitters, and installation must be fully compatible with that existing system. The Government has determined Rees Scientific is uniquely qualified because no other known source can provide compatible proprietary equipment and installation.
