A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of the Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to award a firm fixed price Purchase Order to CYVEK INC 5 Technology DR Wallingford, Connecticut 06492-1942, California 94588-3260 on a sole source basis to provide Simple Plex™ Cartridge Kits. The Critical Care Medicine Department currently utilizes the ELLA™ Instrument to study protein biomarkers in serum, plasma from patient samples, and media samples from research experiments. In comparing previously generated data, the same technology is required. The Simple Plex™ Cartridge Kits are the only kits that are compatible with the ELLA™ Instrument. Use of any other reagents may result in erroneous testing results and may also damage the instrument. Cyvek INC which is a part of the Bio-techne family is the sole provider and legal trademark holder of the Ella™ Instrument as well as the Simple Plex™ Cartridge Kits. To ensure accurate results, only proprietary reagents, consumables, and components must be used with the instrument. To ensure the continuity and integrity of the research, it is crucial to procure the reagents. Product Number: ST01B-PS-000661 (QTY 2) This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.
