A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) intends to award a fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Hologic Sales and Service, LLC., 250 Campus Drive, Marlborough, Massachusetts 01752-3020 for a twelve (12) month base year Hologic Panther Fusion Premium Service Contract, and Four (4) option years. Equipment Serial number: 2090003428. Period of Performance: 06/09/2025-06/08/2030. The Department of Laboratory Medicine has a requirement for a service contract for one (1) Panther Fusion Premium System. The equipment is currently in use for testing of clinical patient samples. The Hologic Panther Fusion System provides rapid, efficient, and sensitive amplification of nucleic acid (DNA) from clinical patient samples which allows for timely identification of the presence of infectious agents and hastens treatment. This service contract is necessary to prevent any equipment failure or system malfunctions, to ensure that clinical testing can proceed without any interruptions. Hologic Sales and Service, LLC is the sole source provider and manufacturer of the equipment. Hologic Sales and Service, LLC is the only contractor that can perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the Panther Fusion System. Use of unauthorized parts or services performed by third-party providers may invalidate the warranty or any existing service agreement. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested Parties: Interested parties capable of providing the same or similar products or services described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capability to perform the described work. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. The determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
