A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation of Lexington, Massachusetts 02421. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase an Arietta End Fire Ultrasound Probe. These probes provide the surgeon better visualization of tumors during transsphenoidal surgery. Below are the items required for this action: Catalog # Description Quantity H4429900 Probe/Sector/Neuro 12-4 MHZ/S12BP4-IO 2 The proposed vendor, Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation, is the sole manufacturer of the Arietta End Fire Ultrasound Probe. In addition, this probe is compatible with the Arietta Ultrasound Machine currently located within the Department of Perioperative Medicine. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
