Supplies Line item: 0001 Description: Carl Zeiss QEVO Handpiece UC Kinevo900 System- Quantity 1 Product No. 000000-2245-864-30QEVOHP Line Item: 0002 Description: Carl Zeiss QEVO Storage Tray UC Kinevo900 System- Quantity 1 Product No. 000000-2245-864-30QEVOST The Department of Perioperative Medicine has a requirement for a Carl Zeiss QEVO Handpiece and Carl Zeiss QEVO Storage Tray used in patient care. The Department of Perioperative Medicine requires a second instrument used in surgeries to prevent surgical delays in surgeries and in patient care. A second instrument is necessary to eliminate surgical delays while the other instrument is being sterilized for the next procedure. The sterilization process can take up to approximately four (4) hours turnaround before the instrument can be used for the next procedure. In addition, the Carl Zeiss QEVO Handpiece is necessary specifically for aneurysm surgeries. The instrument can support the inspection of regions that are not directly visualized by a surgical microscope. The forty-five-degree angle at the end of the endoscope allows it to check around the surface giving optimal view. Zeiss products and services are not sold directly to the Federal Government and are authorized to be sold only through the preferred Government Distributor PROAIM America’s LLC. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
