A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, on behalf of the Department of Transfusion Medicine intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order to Fenwal, Inc. for continued preventative maintenance services for a base year and one option year, to be exercised at the government’s discretion. The Department of Transfusion Medicine has a continued requirement for follow-on an annual preventative maintenance service on its Amicus Cell Separation Platform Serial Numbers D0904M4055 and D0904M4062. The apheresis platforms are used in patient and donor apheresis collections in extracorporeal therapy in which patient or donor blood is passed through the device to separate blood components that includes collecting hematopoietic stem cell for transplant, leukapheresis, erythrocytopheresis, plasmapheresis, red cell and plasma. Fenwal Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer and is the only contractor capable of fulfilling the government’s requirement. Fenwal, Inc. is the only source that can perform preventative maintenance, repairs and perform software upgrades due to the proprietary nature of this equipment. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
