Preventative Maintenance Agreement of surgical equipment for the Department of Perioperative Medicine in the NIH Clinical Center (CC) Product Service Code: J049 NAICS Code: 811210 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 23-010013 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract for one (12) month base period with a period of performance from September 17, 2023 to September 16, 2024 and one option year with a period of performance September 17, 2024 to September 16, 2025 to Surgitron of Maryland Inc. of Gaithersburg, Maryland 20882. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine Section (DPM) has a need to approve a purchase request for repairs of surgical instruments, flexible scopes, and positioning equipment required for on-going surgical procedures. This also includes repairs of equipment that companies have deemed end of life and parts are hard to find. Furthermore, it covers fabrications. This is based on the need to have a purchase order for repairs to be performed on various surgical instruments, scopes, equipment, as well as surgical positioning equipment. All of these items are mission essential, and surgery is impacted when the items are not available. Having a purchase order prevents a delay as the repairs could be over the ordering thresh hold. Also, this repair request provides door to door service preventing the loss of instruments and equipment due to shipping issues. The proposed vendor, Surgi-Tron of Maryland is a small business and only vendor that can come on a daily basis for drop off and pick up of surgical instruments, flexible scopes, equipment, and positioning items. There are no shipping costs associated with using this vendor nor any delays in delivery for the items that are to be used during surgery. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
