A solicitation document will NOT be issued, and quotations will NOT be requested. The purpose of this acquisition is for the Sterile Processing Section to request the purchase of Amsco 7053HP washer/disinfectors. These instrument washers have reached their end of life and are up for replacement under the CERC equipment replacement plan. The instrument washer replacement is needed as the current washers have reached their end of life. These washers serve as a critical function. They wash all surgical instruments as well as all instruments for inpatient units and clinics throughout the clinical center. Additionally, the technology for the washers have advanced since the purchase of the existing washers in 2008. The proposed vendor, Steris Corporation, is the sole manufacturer of the AMSCO 7055HP washer/disinfector used to clean Davinci Robotic instruments. The proposed vendor, 10X Genomics Inc. is the sole distributor of these consumable and reagents. These kits are proprietary and are the only kits compatible with this system. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
