Service agreement of AUWi Pro Urinalysis Analyzer Systems for the Department of Laboratory Medicine Product Service Code: J066 NAICS Code: 811210 Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD POTS: 23-008667 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract with a twelve (12) month period of performance effective 08/01/2023 to 07/31/2024 to Sysmex America Inc. Lincolnshire, Illinois 60069 on a sole source basis to service one AUWi Pro Urinalysis Analyzer System currently located in the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) at the NIH Clinical Center (CC). The DLM Chemistry Urinalysis lab is requesting approval for the purchase order of Service and reagent for AUWi Pro system. The current contract is expiring in July 2023. The current technology requires constant monitoring and digital editing by a technologist and frequent manual microscopic review. The Sysmex AUWi Pro systems eliminates most operator intervention resulting in consistent and efficient analysis across all shifts and operators. In addition to shipping, all supplies, reagents, quality control, and warranty repair and/or replacement for all the Sysmex instruments included. Sysmex is the only vender the manufactures the Sysmex UF-1000i™ Urine Cell Analyzer, which is the only FDA approved instrument available for purchase that offers the fluorescent flow cytometry technology for urine. This technology enhances the detection of bacteria and eliminates common crystal inferences. The CLINITEK Novus® has 14-day on-board stability for the strips and uses digital camera technology. All together, they offer complete, integrated urinalysis for unattended operation from start to finish. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
