A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract with a twelve (12) month base period and three (3) option years to Zimmer Biomet Warsaw, Indiana 46581 on a sole source basis to establish a preventative maintenance agreement for the Rose Robot SN: BS21121 currently located in the Department of Peri-operative Medicine. The purpose of this acquisition is to establish a preventative maintenance agreement for the Rose Robot SN: BS21121 currently located in the Department of Peri-operative Medicine since 2021. The ROSA neurosurgical robot is manufactured by Zimmer Biomet. It is the leading and most used neurosurgical robot across medical centers in the United States. Robotic assistance of neurosurgical procedures has become standard care across many academic medical centers around the United States. The ROSA neurosurgical robot has been developed to assist with surgical navigation and localization for a variety of indications. The period of performance will be as follows: Base Year 06/23/2023 to 06/24/2024 Option Year 1 06/23/2024 to 06/24/2025 Option Year 2 06/23/2025 to 06/24/2026 Option Year 3 06/23/2026 to 06/24/2027 The proposed vendor, Zimmer Biomet, is the sole manufacturer of the Rose Robot SN: BS21121 and the only authorized to perform the preventative maintenance on their equipment. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
