Title: Paging System Supply and Installation E-Wing POTS: 23-003598 NAICS: 238210-Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors Small Business Size Standards: $19Million PSC/FSC: N059 – Installation of Equipment-Electrical and Electronic Equipment Components. This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of the Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) intends to award a sole source fixed price contract with four months and two weeks base year to Interconnect Inc. located at 7810 E. Pierce Street in Scottsdale, Arizona 85257-4302 to supply and install a local paging system in the new DTM E-Wing floors 1, 2, and 3. The National Institutes of Health, the Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) is currently expanding and construction is currently in progress. The new E-Wing will require a new paging system to be supplied and installed. Interconnect Services Inc. has been providing services for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on projects. Interconnect Services Inc. has installed a similar paging system for other NIH branches within the Clinical Center and has experience working with the current contractor on the current DTM E-Wing. Interconnect is already familiar with NIH’s phone system and coordinating projects and has an established business relationship with the construction contractor building the new DTM E-Wing. Interconnect Services has already been vetted and has a security clearance and security and background approval process for campus access and into Building 10. By using Interconnect Services, this will streamline the process and allow continued progress on the installing of the paging system required for the new DTM E-Wing. The new paging system is the same system the contractor previously installed with other NIH departments. Therefore, the contractor is familiar with the installation process, coordinating with the construction contractor with a current security clearance. If NIH had to use a different contractor, it would significantly delay the project installation and opening of DTMs new E-Wing space. The contractor would have to go through the security and background approval process which can take up to six (6) months to over a year depending on complexity or in depth the contractor’s background entails. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
