R -- Development of An Interface Testing System with a Robotic Arm Description(s): This is a full and option competition.. The primary objective of this project is to reduce the exposure to blood and body fluids by developing a new testing system with a robotic arm that can simulate healthcare personnel arm and hand movements to quantify the barrier performance of glove/protective clothing interface. The contractor will develop and produce a testing system with a robotic arm that can simulate worker hand and arm movements. NIOSH/NPPTL will collect and validate data using the contractor`s new testing system to see if the system can differentiate the leakages between different PPE models similar to previously published work.
