A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Department of Laboratory Medicine(DLM) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price for Digital Scanner to Olympus America. Olympus SLIDEVIEW VS200 digital scanner. Designed to capture high-resolution images of slides for quantitative analysis, the system enables the most information that slides have to offer. The scanner brings full automation to specialty testing that, until now, have required time-consuming manual processes and highly technical skills. The purpose of this correspondence is to request a PO to purchase Olympus Slideview VS200 Digital Scanner to provides laboratory support for patient care and research protocols and performs research and training in disciplines of Clinical Pathology. In doing so it provides state-of-the-art laboratory testing in support of Clinical Center patient care and serves as a center of excellence in research and training This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
