A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine. intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price service maintenance agreement, with Aesculap Inc. approval of the purchase of an additional aneurysm clip set is needed to support the surgical treatment of cerebral aneurysms. The aneurysm clips are intended for occlusion of cerebral aneurysms in either a temporary or permanent manner. They are applied with clip appliers which contain titanium alloy jaws. This set is requested by the Neuro surgeons as it is use in Neuro Surgery. Aesculap Inc the sole proprietor of the Items. This unit was chosen by all neuro surgeons. They know that no other unit besides the one that was chosen will give them the performance they need for their surgical outcome from the previous order. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
