A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price Service Contract Service agreement for HISeq silver plan with Illumina Inc., Illumina is the sole manufacturer and support provider for the HiSeq 2500. The parts and services for this instrument are not available from third party sources. Only Illumina service engineers have the technical expertise and skills to troubleshoot and repair this instrument. This service agreement balances performance, productivity and cost, and will ensure that the instrument specs remain within the allowable limits required for our laboratory certification. Using another service provider for maintenance of their instrumentation voids the manufacturer warranty. The purpose of this correspondence is to request a PO to purchase an annual maintenance service agreement for an Illumina HiSeq 2500 (S/N: D00643) used for patient care. Specifically, the Illumina HiSeq 2500 is a genetic analyzer used by DLM investigators and several collaborating NIAID laboratories to perform high-throughput, next-generation. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
