A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine. intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price of an Intelli Cage System (TSE Systems with TSE Systems. The TSE Systems Intelli Cage System is designed for long-term investigation of laboratory rodents. This is a uniquely automated solution for high-throughput screening of behavioral and cognitive performance of mice or rats, socially housed in a home cage setting. The unique animal housing solution allows for automatic monitoring of animals within their social groups, with careful considerations to animal welfare, minimal stress to the animals, and a reduction of routine work for technicians and scientists. The IntelliCage cage is comprised of a spacious central compartment with food grid and shelter, and four operant conditioning corners, one positioned at each corner. The animals are individually investigated within this group-housed setting via an RFID transponder technology. The purpose of this correspondence is to request a Purchase Order to purchase of an Intelli Cage System (TSE Systems design for a long term investigation of laboratory rodent. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 13 in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
