Solicitation # HHSNIHOPCSBSS-21-010705 Date Posted -6-8-2021 Date Closed -6-15-2021 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price for reagent Supplies, with Lonza Walkerfield to perform translational research evaluating the pathogenesis and treatment of high-consequence respiratory viral pathogens, inflammation and pulmonary hypertension. Respiratory infections are the leading cause of death in children worldwide and result in significant morbidity and mortality in adults. The CCMD is establishing a model of lung injury and sepsis to assess the efficacy of treatments and the mechanisms of the injury.There are few vendors for primary cells and we had used this vendor for over 15 years. It’s imperative to keep consistency on the biological materials source to avoid additional testing that will increase cost and produce variability and delays. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, June 16, 2021 at 1:00 EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Priscilla Abalos, Contract Specialist, Priscilla.abalos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
