A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price for supplies service agreement. The request is to purchase reagent supplies for Thermo Fisher Scientific (former Life Technologies, Invitrogen and Affymetrix) for reagents, media for cell culture, cell culture reagents, protein analysis, western blot reagents, transfection reagents, microarray reagents, kits and antibodies. A blank purchase order will allow to consolidate order for larger discounts and will facilitate fast ordering. Themo Fisher Scientific is the only company who can provide the reagents supplie in order to avoid the introduction of new variables into the experimental results and to avoid long and costly delays resulting from retesting of products from other potential suppliers. The continued use of their products will ensure reproducibility and consistency in our data. I was also able to obtain major discounts on the products that we frequently order This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
