A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC),Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price service maintenance agreement, Biofire, To secure preventative maintenance agreement from BioFire Diagnostics for the Microbiology Service of the DLM on the following instruments: BioFire FilmArray 2.0, S/N 2FA00386 BioFire FilmArray 2.0, S/N 2FA05898 BioFire FilmArray 2.0, S/N 2FA00546 BioFire FilmArray 2.0, S/N 2FA00396 BioFire FilmArray 2.0, S/N 2FA05911 The instruments are used by the Department of Laboratory Medicine for the detection of bacterial and viral pathogens that are of clinical significance in patient samples. Results generated by these instruments directly influence the treatment of patients in the Clinical Center. This procurement will ensure that these instruments continue to perform at their highest levels to maintain the quality of patient care. BioFire Diagnostics has proprietary instrumentation, which makes it impossible for others to provide this service. They have been responsive to our calls and effective in diagnosing and solving maintenance issues. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
