Solicitation # HHSNIHOPCSBSS-21-007432 Date Posted 03/30/2021 Closing Date 04/07/2021 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), DPM is requesting the purchase of flexible scopes from Olympus. These scopes are part of CERC replacement based on the age of the scopes. This request serves as a critical function to support multiple surgery cases in a day that require these types of scopes. More specifically the PEDS EGD Scope has reached its end of life and the change in technology will provide a better patient outcome. The Bronchoscope will support different types of therapeutic bronchoscopies as well as diagnostic. The proposed vendor, Alliant Health care is a sole source because of compatibility with the Endoscope tower and for standardization and continuity of care. The department currently owns Olympus towers compatible with the Olympus scopes. Using any other company’s scopes would require the purchase of their tower as well. Also there are sterile supplies associated with the scopes that are used that are currently on hand. Furthermore, the scope cleaning machine used to clean the scopes are compatible with the Olympus scopes as well as all the cleaning supplies. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
