The Intelliflex Instrument in the Immunology Team is used for analyzing samples from ongoing clinical studies. This is the only instrument in the laboratory that is the most versatile multiplexing platform available to measure protein/DNA analyte in a high-throughput applications. The instrument is critical to complete ongoing clinical trial studies to address mission critical questions. To measure low levels of analyte the instrument uses multiple lasers and highly sensitive instrumentation that requires engineering support. Adequate and timely performance of the system is of utmost urgency. Luminex Corp is the original sole manufacturer of the instrument, and therefore, the only ones who can reliably provide service for keeping the equipment functional, thereby, ensuring the integrity of the instrument. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
